Hello everyone, I am 45 and love the outdoors. This will be my first year that I have had the chance to winter camp. I have done alot of primitive camping in the south where there is little or no snow. I am originally from here but was moved to the states with my family when I was 15. I moved back here 3 years ago and go to the woods as often as I can because that is honestly where I find my inner peace. I have a very basic knowledge of primitive camping but not winter camping. I had planned on making this my first year to learn and before I found this site was going to do it alone. I have done alot of research on this and plan on doing a test trip with in the next couple of weeks. Looking for to to meeting everyone!

Hey Kenny! Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn, no one here is a pro instructor in bushcraft and survival but together we have a vast knowledge of skills. I know that Rikki has a lot of knowledge and will be great to have with us. I have spent my whole life in the outdoors from rabbit snaring to deer moose bear and bird hunting. I spent 5 years in the Canadian Army and learned a vast amoutn of skills from advanced map and compass skills to winter warfare training. I know there are other on this forum who have good skills as well. We all look forward to meeting you as well.
