Well peterng, there are two way to go...hiking or hunting! Hiking boots tend to be a lower cut boot (never more then 6 to 8 inches tall) but built well. A good huning boot is just as good for hiking but the tend to be taller and keep the crud out of your boot better. If you want hiking boots look at Radical Edge on Queen St which is downtown Fredericton. If you want a good hunting boot I would recommend going to the Co-op in Fredericton as they sell Irish Setter hunting boots and I sweat by them! Hope that helps!
I have a pair of Irish Setter rubber boots and they are amazing on the feet, feels like your wearing a pair of broken in sneakers. As for the GoreTex hunting boots I have tried them on and they feel amazing too. A friend of mine has a pair and everytime we are out hunting I feel jealous...lol. Someday I will get a pair.
