I will say one thing rikki the pattern 64 ruck from CP Gear is nice and rock soild. Going to cost about as much as the Frost River Pack I was looking at. I got the frame, shoulder straps, and back yoke, still have to get the hip belt and bag.

now the frame is it the old type used original one ! the US has one too and there very similer and way more easy to come by !

Now listen rikki...lol...when i say this please don't kick my ass! I am not going with any old school parts as they cost the same. I found an old frame on gun nuts and the guy wanted 65 bucks...I can get the new CP Gear one for 65 as well and it is new! I was talking to my father today and he said that he had a whole ruck with all the parts in good shape and it was his whe he first got in the army...get this...lol...he gave it away!!!!

lol no worries i just wanted to know what options they had when i first went on there site no framesw ere available at all . im a very very persistant man " when i set out to do something i dont give up youll see and as far as the old straps. well personal reasons and ill share that with ya sometime i also restore stuff back to original cond thats just me lol

Finaly had time to sit down and put the pack frame, shoulder straps and back yoke together. Will post pics soon!

Here are the pictures I promised...Frame, shoulder straps and back yoke! Next will be the bag, custome made hatchet case that connects to the bag and a custome made case for my fire kit. Not sure if I am going to get a hip belt, I may and will take it off when not in use. Attachments:

I gotta say Rikki...I remember running around in the woods as a kid with my dad's pack on, just like the one in the pic! Wish I still had it...love to get one!

i see all kinds off US ones online cheap prices too . i like the bags and if i can get one id use it well maybey the whole pack !!! they also used one almost identical too ours in fact our design came from theirs only diff was our bags were rubberized ! there are also lots of canaidian surplus stores here that carry the us one as well Attachments:
