Ok guys after each trip we go on I am going to clear this board so we can start planning for the next trip and so on... so lets just hear what you think we should cover on the Jan 26th trip. If we are going to start with the basics then here is my idea. After the short hike to get to a good place for a fire and lunch we should... 1. Discuss the four things you need to survive, which leads into #2 2. Discuss and make a list of what we should have in a survival kit (bring a pen and paper) 3. Basic nav with a compass 4. Basic nav with the sun These four things along with the hike and having fire as well as having a show and tell of kit we have should take up a good part of the day! I feel that before anyone of us heads out into the deep woods we all need to have a survival kit and know and understand basic nav. without a map....the map will come later...believe me if you dont have a good understanding of basic nav with a compass it will be hard to understand using a map with a compass. So what do you think?

We can chart a course and maybe scope out potential camps? We should also talk about winter survival, small tips. I say we should all do our homework and each present around 10 survival tips/points that you'd like to share with the group, even if they're quick, just so we'll have something to talk about when we take our lunch break in the woods. I know I won't be able to come up with as much as you guys I'm sure
