The main reason why I started this forum was for people in the local area to get to know eachother and to learn from one another. It was also created to give it's members an outlet to plan meetings and trips into the wilderness as a group. This so called group was/is to be a group of individuals who have the same interest in the outdoors and the same love for nature as I do.
Shortly after the forum was up and running, I was asked if I would remove the Firearms board. They were worried that this forum would be over run by individuals who were, for lack of better words, Rambo lovers and would be wanting to talk more about which assult rifle would best defend your camp then about which pack is best. Due to the large amount of forums out there who's main topics are firearms related I decided to side with the individual and to remove the board. Several weeks later I thought that firearms are an important part of survival so I put it back and made a post telling people to keep it geared towards survival.
Now...I am pro gun! I love the outdoors and I love deer, moose, bear, bird and rabbit hunting and I also own several firearms. However due to the shootings in the states and in respect to the children and teachers who were killed I have made a decison to remove the firearms board and to focus on bushcraft/Survival without firearms.
I am very sorry if this offends anyone and if you feel you have to leave this forum I can respect that. My goal is to creat a safe place for friends to hang out online, a place a parent would feel safe letting their son or daughter join and read the posts from our members.
