Hello fellow bushcrafters. My wife came across an Ad on kijiji showing this new forum created by Moraguy and instantly knew I would be interested. Most people I know do not share the same level of interest in bushcraft that I do so it is nice to get to know others locally that actually do. So, thanks to Moraguy for bringing this unique community together.
As for me, I am 32 years old and of course love spending time outdoors practicing wilderness living skills, fishing, hunting, canoeing, observing nature, etc. I have always had an interest in outdoor activities but didnt really practice 'bushcraft' so to speak until I attended an outdoor wilderness living skills course taught by none other than the legendary Mors Kochanski when I lived out in Alberta almost 8 years ago. Since then, I have been hooked on learning and practicing bushcraft skills whenever I get a chance which is usually never enough. Kochanski's book entitled 'Bushcraft' is excellent as it covers in detail many bush skills for the northern wilderness. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the subject. However, I am sure some of you are already aware of this or have a copy of your own. Some of my favorite skills to practice include fire lighting with flint and steel and also fire by friction with the bow drill. I look to put more effort into sheltercraft in the future as well as expanding on my basic knowledge about plant life.
I look forward to getting to know members of this forum and learning and sharing bushcraft knowledge and skills.
